Like the natural force of magnetic attraction, my students seek out opportunities to work together throughout our day. Their desire to communicate, create, collaborate, and think critically is wonderful to witness!
From first bell to last bell, they learn, share, and build relationships.
My students' natural inquisitiveness take us down many paths of learning. Students in my room are participants in the learning process. They help make decisions about what we'll learn and the best method for doing so. They are problem-solvers and take pride in the collaborative spirit we've created in our classroom.
My Project
During our independent literacy and math work station time, students are able to self-select activities. They also self-select classmates to work with and areas in the classroom to work. Adding the ROK Blocks STEM kit will afford my students the chance to integrate content areas while learning!
If you were to walk into our classroom during these independent workshop times, you'd notice the hum of student discourse and see students busy -- sharing in the learning process.
At first glance, it's apparent they are working to develop and refine their reading, writing, science, technology, and math skills. Looking closely, you'd see they are also building relationships! The ROK Blocks STEM kit will provide my students with developmentally appropriate hands-on materials and activities.
I am most excited about the process my students will experience as they interact with the ROK Blocks STEM kit. A process that fosters problem-solving, exploration, cooperation, and and communication.
