My Students

My students are unique and hardworking scholars. I teach in a small city in Warner Robins, GA with 100% free/reduced price lunch. Most of our students come from the neighborhood around my school, which creates a strong sense of family and community involvement. However, my students still face the additional challenges that poverty can bring. Despite the various challenges that my students and their families face, my students work hard to overcome their obstacles to ensure that they are on a path to success. They are bright, sweet individuals who light up my day every time I see them.

They deserve to have access to engaging texts in order to continue the love of literacy they are developing.

My Project

Wobble chairs encourage active sitting and light exercise for legs, back and core. The data suggests that alternative seating can help some students be more focused and have more on-task behaviors in the classroom. It also suggests that alternative seating might not be appropriate or beneficial for all students that have ADHD.

Flexible seating allows for many opportunities for both students and teachers.

The possibilities of flexible seating are endless. Using flexible seating allows the students to develop critical lifelong skills including problem-solving, flexibility, creativity, self-reflection, autonomy, and collaboration.

The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them additional seating options to make more effective learning choices. The wobble stools are adjustable and will allow students to sit at desk/higher tables but will still allow some movement. These will be extremely beneficial for some students that just need to get the wiggles out. They can also be used as an alternative chair if needed! Thank you!
