This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Help me welcome my rising sophomores this September, we’ve been together as a community since the freshman year 2021-22, and I am so excited to be teaching them again. Notebooks and pencils may seem easy to come by, but for many students, that is not always the case. Over the 2021-22 school year, we were able to build relationships and establish an understanding of what was most needed in our classroom, supplies!

My students are dedicated and hardworking, requiring the best of themselves, their classmates, and their teachers.

The selected items will be used year-round and are most necessary when students forget their pencil, pen or paper at home or are experiencing hardship. With the selected items, my students won't have to worry about back-to-school shopping as they will already have had half of the battle fought for them.

My students are community builders, frequently supporting others and finding ways to improve their skills, and I know that they would be eternally grateful for these classroom supplies, like tape and paper clips, and organizing bins. These school supplies will help to jumpstart their school year and also beautify our new classroom, making it a reflection of who we are as a community.
