This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Each year we start building our classroom community with a unit on what communities are and governement. This always leads to discussions about voting and how decisions are made in our communities. With this years presidential election I know the students are going to have so many questions. Help me give them a variety of age appropriate books to spark their conversations.

Books about voting can help kids understand the importance of civic engagement and democracy.

Early exposure to voting concepts can inspire kids to be active participants in their communities and advocate for positive change. They also often cover historical struggles for voting rights, teaching kids about social justice and the importance of protecting those rights. By making these concepts accessible and engaging, books about voting can lay the groundwork for a lifetime of informed and active citizenship.
