Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach second grade bilingual students in Houston, Texas. My students attend school in a multi-million dollar home neighborhood. Unfortunately, my students are not as privileged as the children of this neighborhood. The majority of them live in bad apartment complexes that are filled uncertainty. I teach at a Title I school and the majority of our students come from low income homes which qualify for free or reduced-price lunch.

My 2nd grade students deserve to have every opportunity this world has to offer.

However, many of them are forced to face challenges and obstacles that can sometimes hold them back from reaching their dreams. Please assist me to help my students reach their fullest potential.

My Project

If my project gets funded, it will allow my students to let their creativity flow. They will be able to design pictures and special fonts for their projects, including their poster for Student of the Week. As the holidays are fast approaching, my students will be able to collaboratively design and create shirts for the winter performance.

By donating to our project, you will not only help increase student creativity but also increase self-esteem when they see their final product.

Throughout the year, I will also incorporate math projects that will allow them to be creative. Math All About Me is a project where they present themselves using math. The 100th day of school is also another project where students will be able to showcase their imagination.
