My Students
I am the school guidance counselor and basketball coach at a Title I elementary school in Brooklyn, NY. Our neighborhood school has a multitude of diverse students from many different cultures and backgrounds.
I want to provide academic, social and emotional development, and college and career readiness skills for all the students at my school.
I'm reaching out for help so we can develop minds of our future leaders.
My Project
It's been a tough year for our students. They've been cooped up, learning remote, and not having any fun. Now that we're back in the school building and student vaccinations are happening, we're planning on starting up our Basketball Club after the holidays. The problem is - our basketballs have disappeared.
I'm requesting ten Wilson NCAA Limited basketballs which will be used by our boys and girls Basketball teams.
With professional basketballs my student athletes will be able to practice, learn, and once again feel their bodies move. Playing sports is so important for many of my students. Sports will allow them to SHINE and score points!
Nearly all students from low‑income households
