Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Play and learning go hand in hand. This year I want my students to be able to develop their oral language skills as they play. The challenge is to provide materials to create that fun learning.

Many of my students are from low-income families and many are ELL students or students with disabilities.

These students need to learn using hands-on materials. Research has proved that the best way for a kindergarten student to learn is through PLAY. The learning must come to life for them so they are able to retain what they are learning.

My Project

In my classroom my students will use the materials you donated to make literature come to life. The puppet theater will help develop oral language skills as the students play with the puppets. The books will develop narrators and possible future teachers or authors. Students can create their own plays and perform for other classes. The learning and activities are endless!

The activities and learning that can come from your gift can change how a child thinks about themselves.

The self esteem it can build from developing their oral language skills are priceless. YOU can touch the hearts of so many children and show them one way to be proactive in the world by helping others.
