This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Speech therapy can be tedious, but with the right materials and resources, it is such an engaging environment! My students range from 3K through 5th grade. Therefore, a variety of materials is required. Not to mention the messes to be made - all while exploring new concepts - require the appropriate cleaning supplies. I make sure to wipe down all tables, seats, and materials after each speech session which requires a lot of cleaning supplies. I would use the disinfecting wipes, gloves, and disinfecting spray towards this. Additionally, I would use the disposable face masks and tissues for myself and my students especially during the flu season so I can diminish the spread of any germs and be constantly present for my students. I want to have my students experience just how much fun speech can be while simultaneously working towards their goals!

I always try to find new, innovative and fun ways my students can learn in speech, as well which can include the sight word and sentence building games.

My speech room can always use a little TLC as our school budgeting is limited. Therefore, a new office chair is needed after 6 years of using the same one. I hope this year brings more fun and exciting opportunities in my speech room for both old and new students!
