My Project

My school has many new kindergarten students who are not yet verbal and many are on the Autism Spectrum. They love to engage in play with hands on toys and my classroom needs more Play-Doh and tools to for them to explore. My students have a hard time communicating their wants and needs. Do not yet know how to play collaboratively and are not yet engaging in pretend play. Their delays in development are best addressed via play.

My students learn best via play, and what is more hands-on than Play-Doh.

The Play-Doh, clay and tools will allow my students to learn new vocabulary related to the actions of rolling, smushing, cutting the Play-Doh. They will learn to play collaboratively and will engage in pretend. My students will engage in pretend play with the Play-Doh hair salon. They will play explore and learn.
