Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The products I chose for this project will tap into different corners of Computer Science for my students this year. As 5th graders, getting ready to go to middle school next year, my students are really finding themselves and what they are passionate about. I felt that the Bristolbots, the Artie 3000's and the Makey Makey kits are cool pieces of technology that will give my students choice and help them decide what creative outlet they wish to take to the next level, all while learning about computer science.

My students are noticeably more engaged when they are working on something they are passionate about.

Giving the students the choice of working on robotics, coding art or a creating engineer style projects using Makey Makeys will enhance the learning within my classroom. These experiences can also set the foundation for taking their computer science knowledge to the next level, whether that be in middle school or career application.

Help fund our project and make this last year of elementary school a memorable one!
