This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students from the South Bronx is a group of Autistic students that are an energetic, inquisitive, and carefree group of 22 middle school students. All of my students have unique personalities that shine throughout the day which makes educating them fun. We are a part of a large learning community that praises inclusion and empathy.

I have a talented group of students that come to class every day ready to learn with tremendous energy.

All of my students receive related services like speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and or counseling. Even though my students have been presented with a challenge, they do not let their challenges get in the way of their education.

My Project

My students from the South Bronx are a group of Autistic students that are energetic, inquisitive, and carefree. Through my several classes, I have the honor of educating 22 bright minds in Math. All of my students have unique personalities that shine throughout the day which makes educating them fun. We are a part of a community that practices emotional competence and inclusion for all students.

As previously stated, all of my students are within the Autism Spectrum Disorder and they lack the social skills needed in order to navigate a school.

The bean bags and fidget toys will complete the self-regulation corner in the school in order to facilitate transitioning from one setting to another. My students are regimented and appreciate the idea of having flexible seating arrangements in order to curtail some of their sensory issues while completing thought-provoking math assignments.
