Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students love coming to school. They are making terrific gains in reading and math.

We recently got a standing desk funded for our classroom and we need a chair to sit when we present our math work on the standing desk.

Each Friday, students work on a math problem solving skill. They come to the standing desk and project to the class their work. They explain their strategy and talk about their approach in solving their problem. Lately, students are requesting a chair because they get tired of standing while explaining their work.

Students look forward to this activity because they get to be the teacher while explaining to the class how they came up with their strategy. A chair will go a long way to help students continue to show what they are learning and get to take on the role of a teacher.
