My Students

Every day my students greet me at the door with a smile that shows me they are eager to start the day and are excited about learning. What they are most excited about is afternoon play centers where they have free choice for their learning.

We are in a rural community where many of my students don't have opportunities to experience the world.

I strive to provide a brain-compatible classroom for all my students through cooperative learning and conscious discipline.

My Project

In this project, I am asking for several STEM kits that will spike my student' interest in exploring their natural curiosity. Students will be able to use these items during "centers."

They will help students grasp concepts with a hands-on approach to learning.

My girls and boys alike will find the Fairy Tale Problem Solving Kits thought-provoking and they will go great when we read the stories that go with them. Having 3 RemoteControl GearBot sets will be great so more of my students can design their own GearBot during centers and STEM. Building with the " I Can Build It Construction Planks" and "Ramps Balls Exploration Set" will give my students opportunities to think outside the box and put new ideas to practice.

I also would read the books Ada Twist Scientist and Going Places to inspire my girls to see that they can be scientists, too.

Thanks to the If/Then Collection for their collection of materials to showcase careers in STEM. I would use the collection to introduce students to careers in STEM, and for their matching donations to STEM projects. Also, thanks for considering my class and students.
