This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach in a Title I school in the South Bronx. The students are very diverse; we are a mix of African-American, Latino and some new arrivals from the Middle East and Africa. The school goes from Pre-K to fifth grade and over 95% percent receive free lunch.
The students in my classroom are all special needs students.
I am the IEP teacher for grades 3K-5th. They all have individual educational plans (IEPs). They vary in their needs from learning disabilities to social-emotional needs.
When planning classroom activities and conducting assessments, I keep IEP goals and outcomes in mind. I also keep the IEP in mind to determine how to collect and evaluate student progress toward educational goals.
My Project
I am in need of a way to supply my students with accurate and efficient feedback in this difficult time. The MacBook will provide my students with feedback without delay. It will allow me to create PDF's for my students and to continue their learning process. My students need efficient feedback on their virtual learning and the MacBook will help in making it stress-free.
The MacBook will provide an engaging and meaningful curriculum in math and literacy to my students.
At the same time, it will allow me to be able to keep up with all my students' needs. The MacBook will be able to open several platforms so that I can monitor all my students live during their lessons. The MacBook will be transferred to the classroom to continue to enhance my students' education after the pandemic.
