My Students

My students are an energetic group of Kindergarten learners. They come to school excited to learn, discover, and explore. We are a neighborhood school with a diverse population of students from TK-5th grade. The parents, teachers, and school community are dedicated to making sure my students have everything they need to meet the common core standards and more. We spend our mornings learning in language arts and math workshops. Our afternoons are spent doing science, social studies as well as free play time.

We would love to start the year with all the supplies that my students need!

Cutting, pasting and writing are a big focus in a Kindergarten day.

My Project

My students love to cut and paste and their is nothing more frustrating than trying to cut with dull scissors. At the beginning of the year we focus on fine motor skills, holding scissors properly and learning to cut on the lines. It is so helpful to have enough scissors for all my students.

As the year progresses we spend more time writing and these drawing and writing journals give my students the opportunity to express themselves through pictures, and then applying their phonics skills to writing.

They feel so successful when they are able to share their journals with their peers and family.
