My Project

I will be moving to a new school this year. I will be working with ethnically diverse students. I am not sure what resources I will have available. My goal for this year is to use the hanging canopy to create a cozy corner for students to have a safe place in the classroom where they can take a break. The fidget toys and stickers will be used as rewards and sensory play at the cozy corner. Students will use the drawers as way to promote independence in the classroom. They will be able to retrieve missed work and important documents they will need for their daily instructions.

Being that it will be my first year in this school building, I want to be able to make that emotional connection with an inviting classroom.

My plan is to create a space where students will be able to support each other academically and emotionally. The laminating sheets and label maker tape will help me label different areas of the classroom for students to access materials efficiently. The labels will be used for printing math problems for classwork and homework. The post-it will be used during English Language Arts and Social Emotional Learning times for students to jot down their thoughts about the task at hand.
