My Project

My students love to learn. First graders are sponges for knowledge. They love to pretend to read by looking at the pictures and they really come to life when they can start sounding out words. My students have an area where they can curl up on a rug, sit at a table with a friend, or rock in a rocking chair, my kids want to read. However, reading is not an easy skill to master. They need to be explicitly taught with ample opportunities to practice each skill.

Decodable readers will scaffold my student's attempts to read more and practice those skills.

The read alouds will also allow my students to hear good vocabulary and be able to listen to a story with good fluency and articulation.

By having access to decodables, my kiddos will have scientifically supported materials to practice reading. We thank you in advance for helping us!
