Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

My Project

Hello, my name is Brittney Ciciliato. I am a first year 5th grade social studies and science teacher. This is my first time ever with my own class and I want to start off with the best for my students. Donating to my classroom will ensure my students to have the best 5th grade experience.

In my classroom I wanted to get flexible seating.

Flexibility is so important for students to thrive. It allows them to be comfortable while remaining focus on their task. Sometimes working at a desk and a hard chair isn’t the most comfortable.

Another thing in my classroom structure that I would like to implement is organizing. Having a cart in my room would help me lay out my daily plans. This will make it easier for me to just organize day to day plans. It will also allow me to transition from subject and period more quickly and efficiently.

Another important factor in my classroom that I would like to add is technology support. One of the main ways my classroom management will take place is by having access to technology that has portability. I plan on using the iPad as a classroom management tool. Class dojo will be downloaded onto the iPad and it will allow me to reward students with points when behavior is appropriate while also taking points away if model student behavior isn’t being shown. Throughout the day students will be moving around the school to their other subject courses; this will be a great tool to quickly grab when taking student from class to class. I will also be able to have it on hand to quickly manage the classroom without having to display class dojo results on the smart board.
