My Students

Do you remember a time that your teacher read aloud a novel to you? I do! I loved listening to my teacher's voice and perfect rhythm while she read to me. I only wished I could look at the words myself. I want to provide my students with copies of the book "Loser" to use during reading time.

My students are an enthusiastic and energetic group of 3rd graders.

They LOVE reading! They especially enjoy our shared reading time when we read chapter books together. The school that they attend is a small rural school in Eastern NC. They have all grown up together, and the school is a very family oriented place to be. Our school is Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade, so they really have a chance to get to know each other and all of the teachers.

My Project

These books by Jerry Spinelli will allow me to incorporate character education into my students favorite time of day. My kids love reading, and they love reading chapter books with me. My students will learn about bullying and treating others with respect after we read the book "Loser."

The donations that you make to my classroom will be greatly appreciated and will affect not only my current group of students, but also students that I will teach in the future.

Lessons about character education have such a broad impact on students, because it affects their morals and decisions later in life.
