My Students

My students come to school everyday and start off the day on a positive note by saying our classroom pledge that today is a new day and they will try their best! Despite struggles they may go through at home, they want to succeed and try their best at school.

I teach in a Title 1 school that has struggled to compete with other schools outside the city of Philadelphia.

My students live in a poverty struck area with many life stressors that go along with it. Many of my students parents have struggled with education themselves and do not value it to the fullest. It is my job to get my students to LOVE learning and show them the importance of it. My students come to school everyday and are excited to learn new things.

My Project

I am requesting practice books for my students to prepare them for the PSSA in March. My school does not have the funds to supply any supplies for our school to help prepare for this extremely important test. With these practice books, students will have the resources to study for and compete fairly against other peers in the state. My students have the right attitude and determination; they just need that extra support to be given the chance to succeed.

Last year, our school made great gains compared to the year before in the PSSA's.

This has brought a boost of confidence to our entire school community that we can do even better this year with the right resources. I can only imagine how well our students will perform this year with the support of practice books for all our our students.
