Help us inspire our students to read the classics! At our high school library we serve over 2,000 students, many of whom come from poor backgrounds.
We really want to encourage our students to read and re-read the classics. This will help them prepare for college by reading those books that is expected of any graduating senior. We have found, however, that the classical titles that our library owns are extremely old and worn out. Many of the titles on our list were printed in the 1950s and 1960s. If we want to encourage our students to read them, it is necessary to provide them with fresh, clean copies of the books.
We are requesting 26 classics that will replace the old and worn out copies our library already owns. These titles range from Sense and Sensibility to The Scarlet Letter.
Your donation will help motivate our students to read these classics. This will enable them to attend college with the same reading experiences as others and give them a true appreciation for classical literature. Thank you for your help!
