My Students

I haven’t met my students yet because this is my first year teaching at this school and due to COVID, we will be starting the year off virtually. However, I know that they are an amazing group of students with various learning/ emotional disabilities. I want to have some great distance learning resources as well as a very diverse library and comfortable classroom for when we do return into the building. I can't wait to meet my new students and show them that they can learn from anywhere and even though there is a lot going on in the world right school will always be a safe space for them!

My middle school students deserve a learning environment that is comfortable, efficient, and conducive to meeting their learning needs.

My Project

These books will allow my students to see themselves in literature, in a different light and will help them understand that they are not alone. The books will also teach my students about different cultures and will speak on gender, race relations, socio-emotional issues, and teenage life through the eyes of different writers. It is important to me that my students understand that it is ok to be themselves, no matter what the "world" may say. The other materials will also help create an engaging distance learning experience while we face this new way of teaching.
