My Students

I teach at a Title I school in Brooklyn, NY. Most students come from lower socioeconomic areas with struggles most of us have a hard time comprehending. When they come to school at the beginning of the year they are eager and curious to learn every day despite the challenges they face at home. They grow so much through the year and when they leave my class they are ready for the next grade!

My Project

These books will act as resources for my students who are learning at school and at home during this uncertain time. The focus of these books include learning about basic feelings, dealing with racism and lack of confidence, navigating the logistics of school during COVID-19, and so much more. Going to school during this uncertain times means that social emotional learning will be more crucial than ever before. Students learning at home and school encounter a great deal of stress, hardship, and/or inconsistency during this time. Paying extra attention will support their emotional well-being as well as filling their mind and heart with confidence to live in this world.
