We have a wonderful diverse and energetic group of transitional kindergarten and kindergarten students this year. They come to school every morning enthusiastic and ready to learn. As a Title 1 school, we have limited funds. Therefore, we are unable to purchase new playground equipment such as balls and jump ropes every school year.
Our students will tell you that their favorite subjects are art and recess!
They can't wait to paint, create and learn how to play new games.
My Project
Our students work so hard! They come to school ready to learn and to have fun. Unfortunately, our playground equipment is older and falling apart from years of use. It is time for new equipment for our students to learn how to play handball, jump rope, build with blocks, create with sand and play with water.
Creative expression is just as important as staying physically fit.
Currently, we share an easel between two classes. We would like to set up an area outside, during recess or center time, where students can use different art mediums, such as paint or pastels.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
