My Students

Let's Play Ball! Baseball is a sport that is all about FUN! Help my students experience a little more fun in the school day!

The students in my school have very little time to get active in the classroom.

When they do get the opportunity to be outside, I want them to be moving around and having fun at the same time. My students are loving and caring third graders. They work hard in their assignments, and strive to do their best. They come from low income housing, where they all receive school breakfast and lunch. They love to move and be active. They receive two periods of gym a week, which is definitely not enough!

My Project

I plan to set up training sessions with my third graders in the spring. During lunch recess I will work on batting practice, hitting, throwing, and catching baseballs. During these training sessions students will have the opportunity to practice hitting with a T-Ball bat and T-Ball stand. They will also work on throwing and catching a baseball properly using training balls and youth baseball gloves. I am also requesting rubber bases so students can build their running stamina by running the bases.

I know this baseball project will build character!

My goal is to encourage kids to get out of the classroom and be active! With these materials, my students will learn how fun and exciting it can be to play outdoors.
