Being a kindergarten teacher for over 26 years, I have delighted in watching the budding dancers, actors, and musicians. I know my kindergarten students enjoy dancing and moving to lively songs and music and at the same time learn a great deal from these moving experiences. I would like to expand and enhance their lessons with additional music, instruments, and activities. While using their senses, the students will learn to move freely and creatively while sometimes following directions and other times dancing and "grooving" to sounds and songs just for fun. Since many of our students are ELL (English Language Learners), the singing and dancing will definitely help them as well as all of the children with reading, math, and language. The materials needed for this experience would include sing-along CDs, dance/movement DVDs/Videos, props such as musical instruments and assorted art supplies. What an exciting time the children will have moving and grooving each day!! We will have fun using our imaginations too!
