My Students

My students are inspired by many different things. I try to find different creative ways to help keep them motivated to participate in each and every day.

I teach a 6:1:1 class of students with autism in a middle school for students with special needs in New York City.

My students use routine and structure to help them throughout the day. Many of them are visual learners who thrive on independent work. They are highly motivated by positive feedback and incentives.

My Project

My students are super, just like the characters in the books that I am requesting for this project. They face many challenges like their favorite heroes and come out shining every time. I try to encourage my students to do the right thing and motivate them to achieve to the best of their abilities. My school uses Positive Behavior Interventions and one such way of promoting good behavior is that of clubs. Many of the students really like comic books. I hope these books can capture the students' imaginations so that they can both create and become heroes of their own.

By donating, you are helping to motivate my students to become the heroes they see in these colorful books.

With these books, my students will have an opportunity to let their imaginations run wild and work towards attaining their goals! You are ensuring that they will continue to learn in new ways, and that they gain independence in the classroom.
