Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Research shows visuals aids are essential for educators to have in their toolkit to support English Language Learners and their learning and this is no different in speech therapy. With the majority of my caseload comprised of English Language Learners it is imperative to utilize the most up to date materials and visuals.

Visual aids help our students with facilitating a more concrete representation of information as opposed to spoken words.

And as they are learning a new language they help them make gains on their goals much faster. And bright visuals help them see what they need to do. They enable students to understand, process, and retain information better. This can help with attention, memory, communication, literacy, teaching routines, and behaviors. Modern visuals aids and material make our therapy sessions go so much smoother!
