Let's Make Recess Time Fun Again!

Help me give my students fun and educational activities to liven up their indoor and outdoor recess time.

My Students

Our school is located in the rural coalfields of southern West Virginia. The nearest town is about 45 minutes away. We are a somewhat isolated community with limited resources. The majority of our students come from low-income or disadvantaged families. We are in fact a Title 1 school with the majority of students eating free or reduced lunch each day.

I want to encourage a happy and healthy lifestyle for my students.

By allowing them to learn, play, create, and build social skills their school day will be enhanced.

My Project

My students need indoor and outdoor recess equipment. The Recess Pack would benefit my boys and girls as it includes outside equipment such as basketballs, kickballs, footballs, and more! Currently we have old, worn, and deflated basketballs to use. They no longer hold air well so they have to be continuously inflated. We have a large paved area to use chalk on. My creative students would love to draw and brighten up our play area.

My students suffer through rainy spring and autumn days, and long, cold winters of indoor recess.

We would love to add some fun to those days with games like Jenga. KNex and a marble run that would keep my students entertained and allow them to be creative and inventive in their play.
