My Students

"Oh my gosh, Mrs. Beguin, have you read..." These are the words I often hear from my students when school starts again and we get to reunite in my classroom. Former students track me down in the halls or send me tweets about favorite summer reads. I want to bring some of that excitement to my classroom with weekly book talks.

Our school is in the panhandle end of Nebraska, far from the wealthier schools of Lincoln and Omaha.

Our funding gets smaller each year but I still want to be able to provide books for my students to read that will get them excited and encourage them to be life-long readers. Would you please consider a small donation to help stock my classroom library?

My Project

My students love lots of reading choices! These are just some of the titles I've heard are popular in other high schools but we would always be happy with a donated book of your choice as well. If you know of one, pick us up a copy, so we can enjoy it and discuss it too. We would love the opportunity to be able to choose other books as the year goes on also. I can recommend books all day long, but it's not until a student recommends one, that they start flying off my shelf. Help me share the love of reading with these kids!
