Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am requesting a class set of calculators to help support my students learning. These calculators will be used during labs and assessments to reduce the reliance of using their cell phones in the classroom to make quick calculations.

The Lego pieces will be used to help students learn about potential and kinetic energy.

Students will build cars and attached a ballon to see how far they can make it move based on the potential energy stored in the balloon. They will race each other to create an engaging competition. The tracks and hot wheels will be used to teach my students about kinetic energy. Each hot wheel will have different number of weights to show how mass can impact kinetic energy. Boom Whackers will be used to introduced my students to the concept of waves and how the noise they create can be interpreted in varying levels indicating a change in frequency and amplitude.
