This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Can you remember an educational song from grade school? I can. Songs help us to remember important information in a fun way.

I teach Kindergarten EL (English learners) in a urban area.

Our school is 98% free and reduced lunch. Many of my students come in on their first day of school with little to no English. Not only do they have to learn all the things that Kindergartners learn, but they have to learn English as well.

My Project

I am requesting a set of DVDs and CDs that will make learning our letters, sightwords, classroom routines, numbers, shapes, and more fun and attention grabbing for my students. These songs are catchy and easy to remember and not to mention FUN! They will help us with important Kindergarten standards while moving to the beats of the music.

This project is important because for young learners learning is best done kinesthetically.

That means that moving and learning go hand in hand for little brains. You can help make learning relevant and fun for Kindergarten.
