This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My Soccer team is a mixed group of 9th 10th graders who enjoy sports. We are on the East Side of Las Vegas. This area is notoriously known for being underserved. Mater Academy has over 85% free and reduced lunch, and we provide free tutoring and enrichment programs to expand their horizons.

I often say, Hard work isn’t easy; that’s why they call it hard work.

My students know this first hand; they have already overcome many obstacles in their young lives. They learned this lesson firsthand, whether they are looking out for their siblings, balancing work and school, or just helping out at home.

My Project

Soccer is the epitome of team sports. Every player in their respective position can make or break a match at any given moment. My Girls' Soccer program needs these items to maximize repetitions during training sessions. School and life have enough challenges and struggles, having the correct equipment to train should not be one of them.

Every moment matters and every drill really counts!

With cones, high-quality soccer balls, and soccer net targets, every player will get the opportunity they deserve to learn and grow.

With my large team, I often need to split the field into smaller sections to work with smaller groups. The cones will assist me in creating clear boundaries. The Select soccer balls will allow every player to have a chance to get more touches on the ball. Lastly, the targets will help my forwards and strikers zero in on the most difficult spots for the goalkeeper to reach.
