Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This is going to be a great year for my kindergarten students. They will learn their ABCs, numbers, how to read and write and how to make new friends. Some of my students come to kindergarten with no English language and they leave my class reading. Seventy-five percent of the students at my school qualify for free lunch. Every student also qualifies for free breakfast every day. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so we need to make sure every student has eaten breakfast and are ready to learn. My school is full of great students, parents, teachers, staff, and administration. We work together to make sure each child is getting the best education they can!

My Project

Most of my class consists of ELL students. That means they come in with limited to no English language. At home, there usually is limited to no English as well, so these these games are needed in my classroom.

Not only will these games help ELL students, but all my kindergarten students can benefit from these activities with language development.

It helps them build language as well and working together in groups. They love learning, and learning with these great games and pictures will help all my students succeed and be success for the next grade. The lotto game has great pictures for my students to relate to as well.
