My Students

"Hey! She's like me!" These words were exclaimed by a student in my class last year as she listened to a story about a blended family. Bright, inquisitive, and curious would-be some adjectives to describe the children I work with. They are talented students working hard everyday to succeed. The majority of students in my school come from minority backgrounds and many are English language learners.

All-day long, we explore books, numbers, and ideas.

It is my job as a teacher to facilitate the exploration of new ideas, topics my students care about, and what it means to be a citizen of the world.

The students in my class are an increasingly diverse group of children who have a wide range of needs and experiences. My school is a Title I school and serves students PreK through fourth grade. My goal is for my students to love reading, and make improvements in reading each day. Linking literacy and personal connections to books will help us achieve this goal! The students in my class and school receive free/reduced lunch, have special needs, and love to listen to stories!

My Project

This project will allow my students to use Legos as tools to engage in STEM projects to help support their learning. My students love to explore through hands on lessons. Legos are a great way for my students to develop their fine motor skills. By using legos in the classroom students thinking skills will develop and improve.

With these learning materials, I hope to create a classroom that fosters hands on learning and engagement.

There is no limit to what my students can accomplish. This project will give my students the tools they need to be successful. It is my goal to support, inspire, and develop the leaders of tomorrow and your donation can help me accomplish this.
