Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My ESL small group students are in first and second grade. They are improving their English skills and vocabulary and building specific Lego sets independently and working together is the perfect way to get the conversations going.

These sets include different types of vehicles and each set has two LEGO figures so the students can let their imaginations soar!

Play is a powerful tool for learning and collaborating and our students need these skills to be able to build meaningful friendships and work together in a positive way to reach a goal.

Each week, our school has "Fun Friday", but I want that fun to be a learning experience too. That is why we play with educational toys such as puzzles, LEGO, blocks or other toys that encourage imagination and conversation.

We will use these sets every week and my students will look forward to Fun Friday even more when they have amazing LEGO sets to build and play with!
