My Students

I have a class of 15 kindergarten students who are curious, creative and a unique group of people who want to learn as much as they can in and out of the classroom. They have a huge passion for both learning and teaching others. They are also learning what it means to be a student and many have their first exposure to letters and sounds during their year with me.

My students are motivated to learn and have a desire to gain as much knowledge as possible.

They are a group of kids who work together to help each other reach their goals. In addition, they are also a wonderful group of learners who enjoy hands-on learning. They are creative and willing to take risks. Our days are spent learning through play and enjoying each other's company.

My Project

During the kindergarten year, my students will be learning letters, sounds and also beginning to read. Using magnetic whiteboards as well as magnetic letters allows my students a very effective tool for learning. We will use these on a regular basis to not only learn letters and their sounds, but also use them to learn sight words and practice early reading.

Kindergartners enjoy hands-on tools as a way to learn.

Using tools such as Play-Doh, learning mats, alphabet beads and alphabet blocks allows my kindergartners to have an engaging way to learn. In addition, these tools will help my kindergartners with fine motor skills as they manipulate the items while working on early reading skills. These tools will make a huge impact while still encouraging a fun, play-based environment.
