My Project

Let's face it, everything has been migrated to the digital world, especially reading. I need help adding Kindles to our classroom to promote reading everyday! Print materials are excellent, but sometimes there just aren't enough copies. Even worse, many of the books are not updated and students are missing out on new releases of authors they love like Jeff Kinney and Tiffany Jackson. Adding Kindles as an option to our classroom library will not only offer students a digital modality, but it will also widen their eyes to the limitless choices of books. I want them to see book recommendations line up in queue and build their bookshelves with titles of interest, rather than consulting with me after each book they finish. With e-reads, e-books, and audiobooks as the new wave and of reading, I am hopeful about starting small book groups too. By donating to our project, you will help kindle a passion for reading that sometimes doesn't happen when students touch the spine or front covers of books. With your donation, you will connect students in a classroom to human readers via audiobooks , and by doing so, build fluency in my population of struggling readers. For my students with reading difficulties or disorders, these Kindle tablets will be a gamechanger! Please help me kindle a love for reading for a lifetime!
