My students are 6th, 7th and 8th grade Computer/Technology and video production learners. They are highly motivated to learn and keep up with the new technology, coding, hardware, electronics and robotics. They are a diverse group of cultures, genders, learning styles and motivations for learning. This elective class set supports the ISTE, CTE and CCSS standards for learning in middle school. My students are hands-on learners. They want to learn about electronics, computers, technology, and anything that they can make do what they want it to do.
My Project
My students love using the robots, microphones and other technology we have in our room, but the battery use is not sustainable, and our resources could be used in other ways. I'd like to role model responsible environmental stewardship and use rechargeable batteries. Our robots are the biggest drain of batteries at 240 AA batteries a year.
