Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are 4 and 5 years old. The rug in our classroom is the central focus of our whole group learning. We sing, dance, play, and learn on the rug and floor throughout the day.

Students spend a large portion of the day sitting on the rug listening to stories, playing with LEGO and building with Magna-tiles.

Students will be more excited about sitting on the floor if they know that it is very clean. We use our floor as an extra learning space to get students out of their seats. Students sit on the floor daily for math and music activities.
