This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Remember as a kid, wanting to know how things work? Well that's exactly is what you will find when you walk into my classroom. You will meet an enthusiastic bunch who have a thirst for knowledge.

My class is made of 24 great inner city kids who love every opportunity to explore.

Our school is a Title I school located in Los Angeles, California. They are currently enjoying reading all about our Changing Earth unit but don't have access to further explore this unit.

My Project

I want my students to be able to explore like scientist and geologist would. This project would allow my students to observe rock minerals, fossils, and science experiments. My current classroom library is also lacking in Science books. Students should have access to further research our changing Earth. Just imagine how excited they would be to be if they were able to have hands-on experiences with minerals, fossils, and science experiments.

Having these resources will allow my students to better comprehend our changing Earth from learning about volcanoes to touching a real life mineral or fossil.

I want my students to be able to make observations and make presentations on their readings, findings, and observations. This will open up a whole new world for them because unfortunately they are not able to access these resources.This project will also inspire future geologists or scientist to think about future careers.
