Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students are motivated and eager learners that come from diverse backgrounds. Most of our students come from low-income homes and/or shelters. For many students especially this year--Kindergarten is their first exposure to school. No matter the day, all 32 of our students come to school everyday ready to experience the world through a new and creative lens.

In our classrooms we focus on getting every student to a level where they read, write and become active learners in order to give them a solid foundation for the following grade levels and beyond.

Some of our students can't make any alphabet sounds, while others are already reading. We help them to help each other grow.

With such an amazing group of children, we are motivated to give them every advantage we can to help them continue to be as excited about their education as they are now.

My Project

They will allow students to gain materials that are not always accessible to them due to their low-income living. Also, students will be able to gain the necessary school and life habits which include but are not limited to organization, writing, mathematics, and art.

With access to these materials, their learning can be facilitated and students will have access to a organized, comfortable, and flexible learning environment.

With literacy centers, students will gain the necessary skills to support them with fluency in reading and writing. Prizes are a great motivational and positive reinforcement tool to encourage students to continue working hard towards their goals.
