Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Every child should have some chime bars or a xylophone to play with. They’re a wonderful tool for learning to listen, perform, and read music. But chime bars are such a good investment too, as they’re suitable for toddlers right up to children of 7 or 8 years old. These work great because you can take out a few notes at a time and have success with diverse learners.

As a music teacher who teaches Pre-K - 5 - I could use these as bells with Pre-K and just give each student the same one or two notes to have a jam session.

In time I would certainly introduce more notes on the glockenspiel to play songs and teach students to read music.

It would be great if I could also use the full 8-note scale and teach songs to students in all grades.
