This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our new normal of teaching is taking a lot to get used to but my students and I are learning to adapt and roll with the punches. Every week seems to be getting a little easier, but with the constant changing of our learning styles: 100% virtual to hybrid to 100% face to face we are being faced with many new challenges.
My students have so much potential, and I strive to provide them with everything they need in order to succeed!
Through my experience, teaching is much easier and the students show more growth when necessary materials are available for use in our classroom. Unfortunately, I cannot always provide the necessary materials.
My Project
Having to come to school in the cold should not be an option for my students but that has been their reality lately. Although we normally have warmer weather, when the temperature drops in Louisiana the environment becomes damp and cold.
Having to rely on our air conditioning/heating system is never an option because it is either not functioning properly or not functioning at all.
I would like to try to provide my students a warm environment. Since many of my students come to school not properly dressed for the weather not having heat is the classroom is a recipe for illness and we do not need more of that right now!
