This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
The students in my 4th-6th Autism classroom are visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learners. I love their passion for learning and willingness to try new things. Science and social study lessons are sometimes a struggle as students need hands-on activities to fully grasp concepts. Having the requested materials will keep my students engaged and give them opportunities to participate in hands-on science. Not only will they be lectured on matter, force, motion, and ecosystems, but they will have the opportunity to rely on evidence (observed data) and think independently. Hands-on science kits will encourage my students to observe, ask questions, touch, smell, and experiment.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
