Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Teacher: "Ready to rock?" Students:"Ready to roll." We are a high energy classroom with a strong desire to learn. Classroom learning needs to be in short segments broken up with multiple brain breaks built in. The stability balls will help extend our learning and ability to stay on task.

My students are ethnically diverse, including second language learners.

Greater than 90% qualify for free or reduced lunch due to low income. Students come to school with little in the way of supplies and/or background experiences. This in no way changes their desire for a quality education.

My Project

With these stability balls, I imagine seeing a sea of bouncing heads while I teach the skills necessary to achieve the Common Core Standards. Students that seem to have a 'built in motor' will have access to this equipment and can satisfy their need to move while simultaneously becoming more successful at learning to stay focused.

My students sometimes have trouble sitting still to get the instruction they need.

The stability balls will allow their bodies to 'bounce' along while helping their minds to stay focused on the information and skills taught.
