My students are eager to learn and full of energy. I teach at a rural Title I school. Almost 100% of students receive free or reduced lunches. My student population includes foster situations, parent or parents who are incarcerated, grandparents raising grandchildren, emotional needs, and those who learn differently.
Every student deserves to feel valued no matter their zip code.
I have students whose basic needs are met and those whose are not. Our school's meals are for those who need them. Counseling, clothing, school supplies, and extra-curricular opportunities are available to try to reach all our families.
My Project
My students struggle with interagating science and math concepts. This project will help my students to develop scientific, reading, technical, and math reasoning skills.
STEM materials will help my students develop, test plans, and make improvements to solve real-world problems.
Along the way, their problem-solving skills improve and they will learn to collaborate with others. Brain box will help make smooth transitions and increase critical thinking skills.
Students will make predictions, collect data, record findings and draw conclusions.
Hands-on materials will help develop critical thinking skills. STEM kits are a great way for students to have an engaging student-led activity. I plan to have the STEM materials available to use when we have a few extra minutes of class time and during inside recess this winter.
My students will have fun and be learning at the same time. The Super Science STEM activity kit will allow students to reinforce Next Generation Science Standards. Students will be actively involved in their learning. They will need to think through different solutions and decide the best action to take.
