Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

If a band plays, but there's no equipment, do they make a sound? Wonderful students are in need of new materials to make their beautiful music.

The students in our school live in tough areas.

Frankly, one of the things that keep our children out of trouble is the discipline of music. They mature into responsible teenagers when challenged with the task of musicianship, leadership, and scholarship. Nothing brings me more pride than seeing a child develop into a fine, well-rounded musician, and making that conscious choice, when there are so many distractions around them. Our students love music, and for some students, music is all they have.

My Project

Music in public schools is constantly being diminished. Our students love playing music and with each year it becomes more difficult for these musicians to embrace their talents. With this generous donation of mouthpieces, reeds, and drumsticks, our students will have the resources to perform at festivals and competitions this year. It will also will allow new students to learn instruments and develop a love for music. New and experienced musicians will be afforded the opportunity to engage in this performance art.

Simply put, our students need these resources so that their talents don't fall by the wayside as so many different schools do.

This will guarantee at least one more year of instrumental performing arts that so many students engage in. This incredible donation will foster learning and will undoubtedly create a life-long appreciation (potentially a new career path) for some. Thank you in advance for contributing to the arts of our school and the future of our children.
