My Project

I have taught first and second grades for 24 years, and I love to have my young kiddos gathered with me ready to learn on the class carpet. It's our "huddle" place to connect as a team academically and socially.

They are more in tune with lessons and seem more comfortable sharing their thoughts and ideas there than at their tables.

This creates the best learning environment for soaking up the many foundational skills they will build upon in the future.

There are days when my students forget their glasses or find out they need them. There are days when we're a little distracted by supplies, neighbors, etc. It happens! The magic carpet saves the day!
