My Students

My students are from a lower socio-economic area that is 100% free lunch. My class specifically is all English language learners who are making great gains in developing their vocabulary and their reading and writing. They are excited about all our different subjects and love to learn!

I would like to provide more iPads to my students that can enhance lessons across all curriculum levels.

We currently only have one iPad for our class and I would like students to have access to more.

My Project

In classrooms across the country, students are utilizing tablets and iPads in a myriad of ways, yet my classroom has access to only one iPad. While the students do have an hour a week in an iPad lab, the tablets are not removable and students would benefit greatly from daily access. For example, I would love for students to be able to utilize QR codes to practice with fluency or as additions to classroom projects. I want them to be able to use iPads as a resource for research and have access to apps that enhance curriculum. Most importantly, I would like them to be prepared for a future that will involve technology on a daily basis -- it is a certainty for their academic future.
